In this unique period in history, we are able to reflect a little on not only the trials that covid has brought with it, but also some of the ways in which it has benefited us through improved technology. The improvements in various online platforms have allowed us to be able to attend AGMs, webinars and even – for the first time – our annual SASTA congress from the comfort of our own homes. This newsletter, also in a new format, reports on the 2021 virtual SASTA congress and the successes – and challenges – associated with hosting it online.

Inevitably though, perhaps, one starts to miss the human connection of ‘in-person’ events, and we are excited to announce that the 2022 SASTA congress will be held in person at the ICC from 16 to 18 August this year. We look forward to welcoming you there with a real cup of coffee and a warm muffin.
